PUBLIC TALK
FENG SHUI for ENRICHING LIVES

Feng Shui is the ancient knowledge about how the environment affects humans within a space, in particular, our living and workspace.
Feng Shui is not a religion and is not based on a belief system. It does not require us to worship any deities or objects, and does not require belief for it to manifest. Benefits from Feng Shui do not impact on one’s value system. Feng Shui effects have to do with the energy of the environment and how it plays out external and internal to our living and workspace. This energy we refer to in Feng Shui is called Qi. Qi is the vital breath or energy animating the cosmos, a pervasive force of the Universe.
There are different ways to view and understand Feng Shui:
1. The MACRO (external environment) and the MICRO (internal environment) perspective.
The MACRO-environment refers to the lay of the land, for example, the surrounding natural features and man made structures. The MICRO-environment refers to the orientation of the main entrance of the building or a property development, the layout of the internal space and way the internal space is utilized.
2. The Visible and Non-visible aspects Feng Shui can be viewed as a systematic knowledge for identifying Qi. The ‘visible’ aspects of Qi is indirectly obvious and somewhat corresponds to common sense. The non-visible aspect of Feng Shui is not discernable without trained knowledge of this original ancient wisdom, which is presented as prescribed formations of geographical features and sophisticated calculation-based formulae for determining where Qi resides in a given space.
3. Space and Time considerations Feng Shui masters deal with Qi in a specific three-dimensional space, in fact any site or place where people gather, work or live. So the positioning of the site and/or aligning within the space are fundamental to determining how the energy will manifest. Crucial to this is the consideration of timing aspects, as no Feng Shui is forever auspicious or inauspicious.
The original wisdom knowledge of Feng Shui can be traced as far back as 5000 years ago when cosmological symbols, codes and systems such as the BaGua Trigram were first developed, and subsequently the Calendar System, Compass, Numerical systems, as a means to understand Heaven and Earth for the betterment of an agrarian society. As with any sacred wisdom associated with ancient Chinese traditions, Feng Shui knowledge was a closely guarded secret, passed down only through wisdom lineages of master - disciple / father - son. Through these lineages evolved the many schools and systems of Classical Feng Shui. In ancient times, Feng Shui was used to select favorable sites as a primary means to enrich the well-being of large communities, starting at the highest influence levels with locating spiritual centres, seats of governance, palaces and administrative centres, followed by its use on individuals such as on the homes of nobility. Now as Feng Shui is regaining its popularity, we tend to see it being used primarily at the level of the individual for residential and commercial purposes.
The true benefits of Feng Shui come about when an accomplished Master practitioner is able to determine the optimum solution for wealth, health and harmonious living for their clients through well thought out positioning and alignment of a site or property.
In this presentation, Master Boon will elaborate on the original wisdom Feng Shui as practiced by the master lineages, showing visual examples of case studies. Subsequently, she will be giving a Certified Training Course in Boulder.
Through transmission of these teachings by a qualified master along with proper understanding and practice by anyone, tremendous benefits are assured. When used side by side with architectural design, civic planning, interior and landscape design, FS can once again regain its place as a powerful means to ensure the well-being and good fortune to society at large.

BAZHAI EIGHT MANSIONS
September 6th - 7th, 2008
Boulder Center for Conscious Living, 1637 28th St., Boulder, Colorado
SEMINAR TEACHINGS: Saturday September 6, 2008
9am to 5pm, Fee: USD $395.00
This seminar is the first in a series of modular courses on the Classical Feng Shui from the Yap Cheng Hai lineage. The Teachings begin with the original principles of the ancient wisdoms, followed by the theory and system of Eight Mansions School, and concludes with highlights of practical application. The ultimate purpose in Feng Shui is to avoid the harmful forces and to harness the auspicious energies of your surroundings.
BaZhai (Eight Mansions) was developed specifically for use on buildings, matching direction and location of the premises and its internal space with an individual’s Life Trigram.
In the BaZhai System, each person is assigned one of the 8 Life Trigrams from the moment of their birth. For each of the 8 Life Trigrams, there are four auspicious compass directions and four inauspicious compass directions.
Furthermore, each of the compass directions bear different qualities of Qi in different strengths. For example, not all of the auspicious directions evoke the same type of positive Qi, nor are these auspicious Qi equally strong. In fact, if you are good at the practice of BaZhai, you can predict the state of the occupants’ health, wealth, career, relationships, etc., from the energies evoked. The way to use BaZhai effectively is first to diagnose the problems, find ways to avoid the harmful and align for the optimum solutions to improve health, wealth and harmony.
